Maintenance Fitter - Western Suburbs!

About your new role / Key Responsibilities:

• Attend to breakdowns on automated glass manufacturing production lines and restore equipment to optimal operation.
• Assist in Job Change of Manufacturing Machinery
• Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), inspections, and servicing of mechanical equipment.
• Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and carry out timely repairs.
• Perform mechanical repairs and component replacement (bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, valves, etc.).
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues to minimise production downtime.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
• Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for accurate maintenance work.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports, and documentation.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety policies and quality standards.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Must be a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter.
• C7 Fitter experience is highly regarded.
• Additional qualifications or experience in pneumatics are preferred.
• Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment is desirable.
• Experience with automated production equipment is advantageous.
• Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other team members.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
