About your new role / Key Responsibilities:
- Attend to breakdowns on automated glass manufacturing production lines and restore equipment to optimal operation.
- Assist in Job Change of Manufacturing Machinery
- Conduct preventative maintenance (PM), inspections, and servicing of mechanical equipment.
- Diagnose faults, identify root causes, and carry out timely repairs.
- Perform mechanical repairs and component replacement (bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, valves, etc.).
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues to minimise production downtime.
- Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals for accurate maintenance work.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, breakdown reports, and documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and plant efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety policies and quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must be a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter.
- C7 Fitter experience is highly regarded.
- Additional qualifications or experience in pneumatics are preferred.
- Maintenance experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment is desirable.
- Experience with automated production equipment is advantageous.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work in a team and collaborate with other team members.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Punctual, reliable, and committed to working safely.
